MARGARET LORING

Margaret Joann Loring, 80, passed surrounded by friends on June 1, 2024.
Born 12/12/1944 in Virginia Illinois, the daughter of Joe and Frona Loring, she will be laid to rest with her parents at a date to be determined. She was preceded in death by her ex husband, her high school sweet heart, Dick Beard.
Joann was a retired respiratory therapist and Peace Corp Volunteer, who lived life to the fullest. She traveled extensively to Africa, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, having lived at times in Antigua, Kenya and Mexico as a single woman solo traveler at a time when this was not the norm. She made friends all over the world.
Joann was dearly loved by her friends who knew her to be kind, generous, with a wicked sense of humor, and will be sorely missed.
There will be a celebration of life 4 pm June 19 at Gypsy Hill Park Golf Pavilion, 116th Regimental Rd., Staunton.
