JANET FARIS


Janet Sue Buck Faris of Niceville, Florida, died Feb. 5, 2025, at age 73. She grew up in Beardstown, Illinois, and later lived in Tallahassee, Florida, before moving to Niceville. She was retired from teaching elementary and Pre-K, including Little Chaires and Hartsfield schools in Leon County.
Janet was a loving mother, wife, sister and dear friend to so many people. She never met a stranger and would even make friends with the cashier in the checkout line.
She was a woman of extremely strong Christian faith and loved to share that faith with others. She loved being outside, taking walks on forested trails and learning about plants and birds. She was very talented in arts & crafts and loved to make greeting cards. She fought a long, hard battle with dementia and is now at peace.
