Janet Marie Smock, 62, of Ashland, IL passed away Friday, March 28, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 18, 1962, in Springfield the daughter of James Robert and Catherine Jean (Langenfeld) VanDenBossche. She married Richard "Richie" Smock on May 8, 1982, in Ashland and he survives.
She is also survived by one daughter and two sons, Nikki Smock of Ashland, Dan Smock (fiancé Tabitha Schaub) of Mt. Pulaski, and Doug (Chelsey) Smock of Mt. Pulaski; eight grandchildren, Alex Smock, Garrett Smock, Amila Schaub, Benjamin Smock, Finley McCain, Piper Smock, Nora Smock, and Everett Smock; one brother and three sisters, John R. "Bob" (Paula) VanDenBossche of Bloomington, Dorothy J. "Dot" (Tom) Hart of Springfield, Patricia A. "Pat" (John) Fleck of Chatham, and Mary Kay (David) Murphy of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
